Diamond Cutter has high hardness, high compressive strength, thermal conductivity and good abrasion resistance, and can obtain high machining precision and efficiency in high speed machining. The above characteristics of diamond cutters are determined by the state of diamond crystals. In diamond crystals, the carbon atom's four valence electrons press the tetrahedron structure into a key, each carbon atom with four adjacent atoms form a covalent bond, and then constitute the diamond structure, the structure of the binding force and direction is very strong, so that diamond has very high hardness. Because the structure of polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is a fine grained diamond sintering body with different orientations, although the bonding agent is added, its hardness and abrasion resistance are still lower than the single crystal diamond. However, because PCD sintering is isotropic, it is not easy to crack down the single cleavage surface.
