1.What is the PCD material?


PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) is a synthetic diamond product that is produced by sintering together selected diamond particles with a metal matrix, using sophisticated technology. The diamond and matrix, when sintered together under high temperatures and pressures, creates a PCD tool blank that is high in uniform hardness and is abrasive resistant in all directions. This PCD diamond layer is then bonded to a tungsten carbide substrate, which provides strength and a brazable base to permit bonding to other metals.

2.What is the advantage of PCD cutting tool?


A. Longer tool life. Due to the very high hardness of the PCD diamond, the PCD tool life can exceed carbide cutting tool life 50 to 100 times in certain applications.

B. Higher machining efficiency. With the very sharp edge and high abrasive resistance, the PCD cutting tools can get higher cutting speed than that of tungsten carbide tools.

C. Higher surface finish quality.

D. Highly improved workpiece quality and excellent dimensional control.

E. Lower machine down time.

3.What is the suitable application for PCD cutting tools?

4.What is the PCBN and Solid PCBN material?


CBN is the second hardest material known after synthetic diamond, but has high thermal and chemical resistance properties. Polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) composites are produced by sintering micron CBN (cubic boron nitride) powders with various ceramics, so as to produce extremely hard and thermally stable tooling materials. Most PCBN materials are integrally bonded to a cemented carbide substrate.

The solid PCBN means that the PCBN are produced by sintering micron CBN powder and bond material, but not carbide substrate.

5. What is the advantage of PCBN cutting tool?

H.Lower friction coefficient.  The friction coefficient of PCBN is only 0.1 to 0.3, while that of tungsten carbide is 0.4 to 0.6.

7. Sample request for PCD inserts or PCBN inserts.


We are very glad to provide PCD or PCBN, even Mono diamond and CVD diamond inserts to customers for test. In order to get more information about the quality, tool life and performance, for the inserts, we suggest the customers to order 3-5pcs samples for test. Generally, it takes about 10-15 working days to prepare the samples. And we will inform the customer to pay the cost and freight.

8. Date of delivery and payment.


It takes about 10-15 working days to prepare the CBN and PCD inserts. And we can put inventory for regular order. We need about 20 working days for the big volume order (over 500pcs) or non-standard PCD inserts, PCBN inserts, Solid PCBN inserts and CVD inserts.

It is acceptable for the customer pay 30% down payment at first, and pay for the rest before shipping. While for the small order, we prefer the customer pay full payment to save the bank charge. Payment transfer could be by the way of T/T, bank telegraphic transfer or Paypal and Western Union.

We send the products to customers by express company, such as EMS, DHL, FEDEX, TNT and UPS.
